Although there is no limit to how you can market an affiliate product, by far the most productive method is to have a web page or site devoted to the product or service you are promoting. Affiliate marketing is a great way to sell other peoples products etc., while earning a commission. Of course the simplest way is often the best especially for beginners and a single page website can achieve the same results as a multi page site. At this point you my not have a good idea what it is you want to sell but this is not as difficult as it seems. You should not be in a rush at this point because you will need to spend time reading and understand the terms and conditions of the company you want to sell products for. The primary reason for this is to ensure when you sell something you are going to get paid! Some programs restrict where they the countries to which payments are made so if you are not on their approved list, you will not get paid.
Most affiliate programs pay well but it does depend on their prices to start with; fifty percent is the norm but if you decide to become an Amazon.com affiliate, expect around 5-10 percent (this is worth checking regularly). Still one of the best affiliate marketing resources is Clickbank.com where there is information and products listed in categories and links to the sales page of the product being sold. You should always be wary of affiliate programs that require a registration or administration fee as they probably earn their income from the large number of people that sign up with them. The majority of programs will use Paypal or Clickbank and both are trustworthy so to ensure you are covered, register with both systems as it is free. Remember this is the early part of your affiliate marketing venture so you do not need (or want) to experiment unnecessarily; there will be plenty of time to do that when you are more established.
The biggest problem when you are new at marketing affiliate products is finding good online help; care must be taken because it is easy to get information overload but there are sites and ebooks to help you. It is quite usual for ebooks to contain url’s that are in themselves, affiliate links, it is up to you if you click on any and buy something. It is easy to start using the free techniques first in the early days and then stat paying for worthwhile programs etc. when you are making some money. This use of free products works well because it is a way for you to see whether the person who supplied them knows what they are doing.
For the best exposure of your affiliate marketing campaign, use alternative sources of advertising, do not restrict your efforts to purely online methods. If you provide people with the information they require and point them towards your affiliate website, you cannot go far wrong. One of the key to success that all top affiliate marketers use is tracking where their sales originate from and dropping those forms of advertising that do not work. With affiliate marketing it is easy to work for as many companies as you feel comfortable with. A word of warning: there is also danger of getting bogged down with too much information, this can also be bad or out dated just too make matters worse.
